IM4 Online Workshop with Casey Koyczan
IM4 will be hosting a series of online distant-learning workshops by amazing XR media creators who are partaking in the IM4 Immersive Knowledge Transfer (IKT) Series this June/July months. This workshop is open for Indigenous media creators, artists, storytellers, and the larger Indigenous community.
On Friday July 17th at 12pm pst will be an online workshop ‘Working with Tilt Brush” with Casey Koyczan.
Casey Koyczan is a Tlicho Dene interdisciplinary artist from Yellowknife, NT, that implements culture and technology in his creations that have the ability to trigger numerous bodily senses by combining a variation of installation, sculpture, interactivity, new media, audio and performance. Casey Koyczan discovered sculpture and installation within his BFA and acquired an aesthetic of “nature reclaiming architectural space” by utilizing earth materials to create large-scale visions that communicate elements of environmentalism, societal awareness and experimentation. His artwork now blends multiple mediums in order to bring his ideas to fruition. His artwork has been shown nationally and internationally, and has participated in many residencies, exhibits, festivals and collaboration projects in other parts of the world such as Finland, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and The Netherlands.
Koyczan has a Multimedia Production Diploma from Lethbridge College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Thompson Rivers University, and is now within his first year of MFA studies at the University of Manitoba where he continues to build on his knowledge and skills while travelling to fulfill his art and music careers. He is also a producer, actor, writer, teacher, workshop facilitator, and advocate for future generations of artists and musicians worldwide.

Please note due to the requirements our funding structure we are prioritizing spots for this free online workshop for Indigenous peoples, and those who self-identify as Indigenous. All information provided in the application form will be kept confidential. The application form will request your SIN number, and a copy of a status card.
