IM4 Lab in partnership with Emily Carr University of Art and Design, presents Canada’s first Indigenous-led Virtual Production Micro-credential for emerging and professional Indigenous media creators within Canada. With the help of our sponsors, IM4 Lab is able to provide this training as an Award program, to ensure that successful applicants will receive this training free of cost.
As leaders in Indigenous digital and immersive media training and production, IM4 Lab is committed to ensuring artists have the knowledge and tools for innovative storytelling through an Indigenous lens. Our goal is to increase the capacity of Indigenous content creators in the workforce, and foster their own economic growth through professional development opportunities.</br

Indigenous Matriarchs 4 Lab (IM4), leaders in digital and immersive media production and training, advocates Indigenous sovereignty through empowering Indigenous creators to join the digital conversation. In continuously working to strengthen our capacity to support the advancement of Indigenous filmmakers and artists. IM4 Lab, in partnership with Emily Carr University, has developed an innovative ‘Virtual Production Training Program, providing Indigenous creators with aan opportunity to expand their technological skills and qualifications.
This blended, online & in-person, curriculum reflects Indigenous storytelling and provides hands-on training and mentorship with industry technical experts. The curriculum design provides participants with an opportunity to expand their knowledge, skills, and digital portfolio with access to leading real-time filmmaking tools, and production support in making high-quality micro-short films culminating in a public screening upon completing the cohort.
